Case Study: Lenovo F1 Fan Zone – Mobile-First AI Photo Booth Brand Activation in London

In July 2024, Snapmatix (formerly trading as Snapmatic AI in the UK) was proud to partner with TBA PLC to deliver a custom AI photo booth brand activation for Lenovo at the Formula 1 Fan Zone. This activation formed a central part of Lenovo’s engagement campaign, celebrating their role in supporting Formula 1 in the lead-up to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Immersive F1-Themed Experiences

Set in the heart of London, the fan zone featured a suite of interactive experiences, including VR5 motion simulators and our AI driver filter photo booth, giving guests the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the high-energy world of Formula 1.

Mobile-First AI Photo Booth Activation

What made this activation unique was its ‘no on-site hardware’ approach. Instead of a traditional photo booth setup, guests scanned a QR code to access the AI-powered experience directly on their own mobile devices. This mobile-first strategy eliminated queues, reduced the space required for the activation and gave participants complete flexibility in how they engaged with the brand.

Hyper-Personalised Branded Content

Each participant received a unique, hyper-personalised AI image of themselves as an F1 driver, complete with Lenovo branding. To further drive sharing and engagement, participants were also entered into a prize draw to win tickets to the Silverstone Grand Prix the following week.

Driving Engagement at Scale
